The Spider-Bot first appears in the E3 trailer for Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist, when it was intended to appear in the game as a gadget that players could use. In 2012, during the Blacklist Attacks, Fourth Echelon had sent the Spider-Bot out to various facilities where The Engineers (or possible allies of The Engineers) operated. The machine guns are fully automatic and feature multiple weapon system upgrades that can modify the fire rate (likely for only gameplay purposes).
